Whitchurch LJC meeting on 24th Feb

Whitchurch Area Local Joint Committee – 24th February 2016

The next Whitchurch Area Local Joint Committee (LJC) meeting is taking place on Wednesday 24th February 2016 at 7pm in Whitchurch Civic Centre – upstairs in the Edward German Room.  Everyone is welcome to attend this public meeting and doors open at 6.30pm to enable you to speak with your local Councillor.

The LJC are hosting several speakers at this meeting who will inform and update you on current local issues:

  • Shropshire Council’s Chief Executive, Clive Wright, will be updating the meeting on Big Conversation news and the future for Shropshire Council.
  • Shropshire Council officers have been invited following a request from Whitchurch Chamber of Trade to discuss town centre parking issues
  • Shropshire Youth Association’s Kerry Williams, will be giving an update on the current youth activity at Centre NE

Chair of Whitchurch LJC, Paul Wynn, says “Whitchurch LJC are delighted to be hosting these speakers, who will be bringing along their expertise and knowledge to answer your important questions.  Shropshire Council Highways & Enforcement officers have been invited, at the request of Whitchurch Chamber to discuss the local issue of parking on the pavements and delivery lorries blocking the highway.  This LJC welcomes input from everyone and I would therefore like to invite you to this meeting to be able to ask questions to the professional speakers.”

Through the PACT session, the local Policing Team and representatives from Shropshire Fire & Rescue will also be giving updates on concerns and keeping you up to date on local schemes.

Whitchurch Area LJC takes place three times per year and is a chance to have your say about local initiatives or how national policies are implemented locally.  You can either submit a question prior to the meeting to enable the Committee to invite an expert along or ask during ‘Question Time’ at the meeting.
