Home-Start Shropshire

Home-Start Shropshire can provide a family with the necessary support they may need to ensure their children get a good start in life.

We offer various forms of help. Most commonly a carefully matched volunteer visits the family at home and aids the family as required for up to two hours a week. Some of our families use this time to be able to talk to another adult, have assistance with practical tasks, or are enabled to get to a medical appointment, some families seek advice from another experienced parent.

Our local Home-Start Coordinators manage volunteers and ensure that families are matched with the appropriate volunteer for their needs. We always carry out an initial visit to the family home. This is to ensure we can offer the right help, sometimes if there is a service better equipped or more relevant we will signpost families to those services. If we can support, we will.

As situations change we are also well equipped to stay that step ahead. Out monitoring process ensures we review the family every 12 weeks to ensure what we are offering is helping.

Families can self-refer to us by contacting the office.

Agencies and other professionals are welcome to complete our short referral form and post to the direct office.

If you are unsure if Home-Start can support your family, do feel free to confidentially call and talk it through with a member of staff.
