Day care centre for over 55s
We support on average 22 service users per day with varying levels of needs but 90% now have alzheimers or a dementia related illness all at different stages and of different types.
Dementia is an illness that requires continuation of care /habit to enable an individual to feel safe ,this in turn means that life at home can become difficult for families and carers sometimes resulting in breakdowns leading to crisis situations and the individual needs to be found a placement. The centre gives the carers as well as service user the daily respite needed. During the there time with us we have a daily schedule of activities provide 2 coarse cooked meal, entertainment and trips out.
